Tip #5: enchanting forest walk from Deux-Rys to l'Ai-L'oiseau

This lovely walk starts in a small hamlet called Deux-Rys, half way up the Aisne valley, about 3 kilometers from the chalet. Download and follow the walk via the 'All Trails App' here. Its architectural heritage is truly exceptional, with its half-timbered houses with cherry roofs. Deux-Rys takes its name from the confluence of two streams whose names have changed over time. The walk starts with a light warm up of the muscles for about 500 meters on the main road towards the path that takes you to the heights. Immediately follows a fairly steep climb with beautiful views. The morning mist gives a modest elegance to the beauty of this place. If you are an early bird, this walk is highly recommended! If you strain your ears, you'll hear the echo of every sound bouncing across the valley. Below, in the hollow between the two valleys, the crossing of the L'Ai-L'oiseau stream is quite sporty. You have to follow the stream to the left for about fifty meters, where you will find a makeshift bridge made of stones found on site. This is followed by a nice climb, during which the muscles are contracted. This yields a sublime reward: a panorama of the highest peaks. The rest of the walk is quietly flat and goes through spruce forests towards the village of Deux-Rys.
